Course format:
- Two months devoted to each of the seven exams
- Study as a group for first six weeks, take exam together in Week 7, take a break in Week 8. Start the next session in Week 1 of the following month.
- Study groups will meet Wednesdays from 5:30 – 7:30pm
- There will be two seven-person study groups (total of 14 slots available for this first program).
The Teams have already started the first study group... so if you would like to join a new group, please email kberry@aiasandiego.org with the subject line: Team Training and as soon as we have enough to form another group we'll notifty you via email with all the information.
Training agenda for each exam (tentative):
- Week 1: Introductions, overview of Kaplan ARE 4.0 study materials
- Week 2: Sample test -- find out how much you don't know!
- Week 3: Group study -- determine
- Week 4: Subject matter expert available for Q&A
- Week 5: Group study
- Week 6: Group study
- Week 7: TAKE THE EXAM!
- Week 8: Take a break, relax, gear up for next exam!
COST:
AIASD Members: $150
Non-Members: $250
(includes all 7 study groups, Jan 2010 through Feb 2011)
Exam prep order: Based on input from AIA San Diego Associates who have recently finished the ARE, we've set the the following order for the study group:
1. Programming planning and practice (Jan-Feb 2010)
2. Building design and construction systems (Mar-Apr 2010)
3. Building systems (May-June 2010)
4. Structural (July-Aug 2010)
5. Construction documents and services (Sep-Oct 2010)
6. Site planning and design (Oct-Nov 2010)
7. Schematic design (Jan-Feb 2011)
