Build up grade to get basement?

Will the city allow me to build up gra11-21-2006, 08:44 AMde around a property so that the bottom level can be considered a basement (based on UBC definition)?

Yes, you can build up grade.

Yes, you can build up the grade to create what the UBC/CBC defines as a basement. However, as you aluded, it does not change the city's definition of height & basement which is tied to existing and proposed grade. __________________
