An architect on staff at NCARB will present on a range of licensure topics relevant to interns and supervisors in the architecture profession. The presentation will review how NCARB works as an organization, how to begin an NCARB Record, how to progress successfully through the Intern Development Program, what to anticipate with the newly implemented ARE 4.0, how to obtain a license, the value of NCARB certification, and any changes to NCARB programs that have recently come down the pipeline, including the Six Month Rule, electronic-Experience Verification Reporting, and the IDP Supervisor Guidelines. Furthermore, the upcoming IDP 2.0 will also be unveiled.
All questions and comments relevant to NCARB and licensure are welcome as discussion items. NCARB will remain on-site after the presentation to help address specific questions on an individual basis as long as necessary.

Harry Falconer joined NCARB in April, 2006. He leads the Directorate to provide professional support for the Intern Development Program (IDP). Mr. Falconer also assists and advises the Director, Records, and his team on matters pertaining to the Intern Development Program. Mr. Falconer’s career in architecture includes fifteen years of experience in architecture engineering firms and seven years of experience in facilities planning and design. His direct involvement in all phases of design, construction, and project management has allowed him to become knowledgeable in the many aspects of the profession. Falconer’s practice of architecture, while varied, focused on the college and university market sector. Mr. Falconer holds a bachelor of architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is licensed to practice architecture in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Falconer is a member of the American Institute of Architects, has been certified as a construction documents technologist by the Construction Specifications Institute, and holds the NCARB Certificate for national reciprocity.
