The presentation covers the history of retaining walls from the early years in Babylonia to present day manufacturing processes. You will see the application of the walls in unique locations to today's backyard wall. One area of importance is the design and installation this section briefly covers what is required by the design engineer to effectively prepare plans for today's wall system. The installation by contractors is the final step in the selection and design process of retaining wall, thus it is crucial that it is installed properly, we will learn about the methods prescribed to install a segmental retaining wall.

Presenter: Mike Blumenstein has been involved with segmental retaining walls for 10 years working for Pavestone as a Wall Specialist and then presently with Keystone Retaining Walls as a Regional Manager responsible for Arizona, Nevada and California. Mike’s duties include training contractors following the National Concrete Masonry Associations (NCMA) guidelines to working with Engineers and Architects on planning and constructing Retaining Walls.
