Tables for Tots, benefitting San Diego's Ronald McDonald House! 

Girls in construction?  It aint rocket science - it's magic!  AIA San Diego's DesignDIVAs (Develop.  Value.  Inspire.  Act.) have begun collaborating with Kearny Mesa's Construction Tech Academy to design a new storage facility on the high school property.  What's special about this project?  The storage facility will be designed and BUILT by high school girls during "Magic Camp."  Magic is an acronym for >>> Girls In Construction and is a program of the Women In Construction organization.  In need of an architect and design assistance, the team includes AIA San Diego's Joanne McAllister, AIA, from Stantec, and Associate members Dennise Gurmilan and Corinne McLaughlin.  Currently, the group is finalizing the eye-catching design and looking forward to starting construction with the Magic Camp attendees on June 20th.  For pictures of the design thus far, click here.  Want to be considered for the 2012 Magic Camp team, send us an email at Info@AIASanDiego.org.
