AIA San Diego maintains a resume file for those seeking positions. Anyone may provide a resume (maximum 3 pages, 8.5” x 11”) by mail, fax, or as an attachment to e-mail (info@aiasandiego.org). Submitted resume items (c.v., cover letter, illustration within the total of 3 pages) will remain posted for six months. Put your talents to work for CANstruction!

Are you ready to help San Diego food banks by putting your creative “model building with food” talents to work for CANstruction? Let’s get our CAN on!  AIA San Diego is interested in creating a team to design and build a can structure for the seventh annual CANstruction event.  CANstruction gathers San Diego’s top architects and engineers to compete in a yearly competition to create giant works of sculptural art, made entirely out of canned foods!  The teams have a few short weeks to design a structure out of cans, secure donations, and get delivery of the cans lined up for the a one day build.

If you are interested in attending and/or being a Good Deed Project Leader for CANstruction, please send an email to info@AIASanDiego.org.

B.E.E.P. (Built Environment Education Program) is back! Interested in participating?

As AIA San Diego moves forward into the Year of Good Deeds, we’ll be partnering with a number of local architecture and design organizations, including the San Diego Architectural Foundation.  If you are looking for an exciting, education program focused on kids, think BEEP!  BEEP is the Foundations’ Built Environment Education Program which exposes 4th to 8th graders to concepts relating to the design and construction of the built environment; integrating the disciplines of architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture.  AIA San Diego is looking for volunteers who will have the opportunity to help shape the program lessons and teach the program in local classrooms.  If interested, please send an email to AIA San Diego staff at Info@AIASanDiego.org.

Graphic Designers Wanted to document the Good Deeds!

Graphic Designers Wanted to document the Good Deeds!  Are you an Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign wiz?  Perhaps your portfolio gets rave reviews!  AIA San Diego seeks folks with graphic design talents to help document and archive the chapters’ 2011 Good Deeds program to highlight the results of the Good Deeds in a consistent and creative reporting and archival method!  Tasks will include designing ads to promote volunteer participation in the Good Deeds and creating memorable documentation which celebrates AIA San Diego members in service to our community.  The resulting graphics will be disseminated in a variety of media including the AIA San Diego website, newsletter, posters, social media and press releases.  If interested, please send an email to AIA San Diego staff at Info@AIASanDiego.org and we’ll ensure you are invited to the next Good Deeds Committee planning meeting.
