We kicked off our event-filled evening with Halloween candy, introductions, and encouragement from Kevin Bussett, Assoc. AIA, Team in Training Chair, and Haley Bareisa, Team in Training Alumni. These two exceptional 'Emerging Professionals' participated in the AIASD’s 2010-2011 ARE Team in Training Program and passed ALL 7 exams on schedule!

Next, we hosted a live video chat with Tina Hovsepian, AIACC IDP Coordinator for Southern California, who brought our teams up-to-date on recent changes to the requirements for licensure and answered audience questions. The Emerging Professionals Committee has plans to host a public, in-person IDP Seminar with Tina in early 2012, so stay tuned.  

Following the webinar, the study groups convened for last minute review (and first introductions for our newly-formed FIFTH group) in preparation for a night of camaraderie, pub fare, and a special "structural systems" midterm quiz bowl located in the cozy and accommodating Downtown Johnny Browns. This 1990’s WWF-themed event, hosted by Kevin Bussett, Assoc. AIA, aka "Macho Man Randy Savage," culminated in a toe-to-toe match-up between Team Hulk Hogan and Team Razor Ramon with winner taking the Team-in-Training Title Belt! We appreciate our study group members’ enthusiasm and look forward to the next time we can take the ARE out of the office and onto the streets!
