AIA SAN DIEGO ANNOUNCES ITS 2010 AWARD WINNERS

The American Institute of Architects San Diego Chapter Recognizes the Year’s Most Impressive Projects

June 21, 2010 (San Diego, Calif.) — The American Institute of Architects (AIA) San Diego chapter is pleased to announce the 2010 winners in its annual Design Awards and the Young Architect of the Year Award (YAYA) programs.  

A distinguished panel of architects traveled to San Diego this past week to evaluate nominated projects and select the 2010 winners. Award winners were announced at the AIA Design Awards 50th Anniversary held Saturday evening, June 19, 2010, at The Neurosciences Institute in La Jolla, Calif. 

The 3-member jury panel was composed of:

  • Gwynne Pugh, FAIA, Pugh + Scarpa Architects, Inc., Santa Monica, CA
  • Randy Brown, FAIA, Principal, Randy Brown Architects, Omaha, NE 
  • Kristine Royal, AIA, Architecture Royal, Newport, RI 

In celebration of 50 years of exceptional architecture and design in San Diego, AIA San Diego added two special awards to this year’s program as well as a star-studded event emceed by actor Dileep Rao, who was most recently seen in James Cameron’s record-breaking blockbuster “Avatar,” the top grossing film of all time.
