Advocacy Commission

Mission Statement:

The Advocacy Commission exists to promote the interests of AIA San Diego at local, state and federal levels by working with the general public, governmental agencies, and stakeholder organizations to proactively respond to issues that impact architectural practice and urban development in the San Diego region.

Currently, the Advocacy Commission is comprised of three committees:

  • Urban Design Committee
  • Codes, Permits & Processing Committee
  • AIASD/AGCSD Committee

This is the monthly meeting of the Executive Committee of the chapter's Board of Directors.  The executive Committee is comprised of the President, President-Elect, Secretary- Treasurer, and Immediate-Past President.  The chapter CEO also participates in this meeting.  Typically, this meeting includes a review of minutes from the prior board meeting, a review of the current Treasurer's report, and the planning and setting of the agenda for the upcoming full board meeting.
